The Open Pitch Grant Challenge is initiated and financed by Business Clinic, in partnership with Onitsha Business Hangout.

Designed to support microbusinesses, startups, and entrepreneurs across the South East of Nigeria — the grant provides seed funding, mentorship, and exposure to help businesses scale sustainably, create jobs, and expand their market reach.

02 — Eligibility

Who Can
Apply?

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements to be considered for the grant.

Residency

Must live and operate in the South East of Nigeria.

Age Requirement

18 years and above.

Business Duration

At least 1 year of active business operations.

Business Type

Both registered and unregistered businesses are eligible. Unregistered businesses must provide proof of operations (utility bill, lease agreement, or customer receipts).

Business Plan

Must demonstrate sustainability, feasibility, and a clear need for the grant funding.

Impact Potential

Must show potential for job creation, market expansion, or broader ecosystem impact.

Integrity

No record of fraud or illegal activity. Applicants must maintain a clean business record.

Note on Unregistered Businesses

Unregistered businesses are still eligible — just provide any of: utility bill, lease agreement, or customer receipts as proof of operations.
